Kumatora never knew what to get people for birthdays or Christmas or whatever. And today, Zelda was no exception. Kuma had read in her journal that she was into jewelry, though, so she had picked up a gift certificate for a little jewelry boutique she had found in the city. She still kinda wished she was better at this gift-giving thing.
Kuma slunk down the hall to Zelda's dorm and knocked on the door. Nooooobody answered. Crap. Well, the good thing about gift certificates was that they slid under doors easy. She knelt down and slipped the envelope under the door with a card that read:
Happy Birthday! Hope you had a good one!
-Kumatora
Yeah, she kind of failed writing notes, too.

Zelda wouldn't be back at campus and at her dorm until the next morning. As she was entering, she heard the sound of paper sliding against the carpet, and looked down to see that she had nudged an envelope. Putting down her backpack and the fruit basket, she knelt down and picked it up, noting the card.
A smile came onto her face when she read it. She had no hard feelings for Kumatora (having instead redirected them at those behind the sprouts), and thought it was a sweet gesture. She opened the envelope, taking the gift certificate. She decided she'd go out later that day to pick out something.
Zelda put the card on her desk. She would have to thank Kumatora later, and maybe even bring her some leftover cake, if she could get it to school and keep it relatively frozen.
